    Timing light skipping a fire.

I picked up a 1991 Ranger 4.0 5 speed a few months back. I am trying to get this thing to pass smog so I can daily drive it but it keeps failing emissions with slightly high HC and then gross polluter status for CO. NO is super low. Anyway I hooked up my timing light and notice every 5 to 30...

My 1991 Ranger daily driver build.

I picked up this 1991 Ranger a few days ago to become my daily driver and who knows maybe a few small off road mods. It is a 1991 4wd XLT standard cab long bed with 122k miles. Powering it is a 4.0 5 speed manual and an electric shift tcase. Inside is a near perfect 60/40 bench zero cracks...

Rear bumper for our 2001 Explorer

Starting on a rear bumper for our 2001 explorer. It will allow for the license plate to be taken off the hatch and mounted below the eventual swing out tire carrier. It will eventually wrap all the way to the rear wheel well. Here are some pictures and then a video I made of assembling it.

1998 and up weld together winch bumper.

I built this bumper for the newer rangers and figured a few of you might want to see it. This bumper bolts to the factory bumper mounts. I start with a tape measure paper pencil and bunch of head scratching. Then I transfer it all to the computer into a cad program and eventually cut it my...

Just a normal Saturday trip to the lake....

Saturday was an eventful day. We had a group come up from Bakersfield to go wheeling with us. Due to the size of our group we split into a few smaller groups. I was going to lead several rigs into Red lake and then into Coyote lake. Tracy (my wife) was going to go with a group a little...

How rare are oxford white explorer?

My wife drives an 01 explorer. Last week someone backed into her in a parking lot and mangled up the passenger front door pretty good. The other drivers insurance is taking responsibility to fix it. The quote we got from the body shop was $1800. I am thinking if I can find a matching door...

Anyone use the Go Pro knock off cameras?

A GoPro is to pricey for something I am not even sure I will use much. However there are other ones I see listed on Amazon for $40-$70. Are any of them any good? What is a cheap easy way to edit the video that is recorded? I plan to use it on my ranger on some of my wheeling trips. Any...

Seven Days Five Trails Who is up for it?

After watching 4 Wheel and Off Road Ultimate Adventures over the years I think it is time to do my version of this. Having fun in Moab this year being able to do multiple days of wheeling back to back I have come up with my own version. Instead of trails spread out by hundreds of miles and...

What is the "Best" Cooling setup for first Gens?

While I have 93 ranger it does share a lot of parts with the explorer. I have a nagging overheating issue on long grades I want to get rid of. When I am going to the local trails I climb from 1600 feet to 5000 ft in about 12 miles. It is one long continues pull. I pretty much put it in 4th...

Would this security feature be a liability

Now that I have a decent ranger I would sure hate to loose it to theft. I know you can't stop everyone but something to slow them down would be handy. Here is my 3D rendering. The holes in the back are for a long shank padlock to slip thru to lock it in place. brake stop by Matthew...

    Underhood oil storage.

I have had way to many extra oil quarts get holes in them in my tool box and create a mess. I have looked at the Artec mounts. They are nice but none fit my needs and where I wanted it to go. Having a cnc plasma cutter in my garage made it easy to build my own. On my 93 ranger behind the...
