    Kenne Bell supercharged 5.0 Explorer...

You get that snout/drive on and Pulley attached? It would be nice to read of success and see it? How much boost are you looking for? There is a calculation that can help with determining pulley size. I get 7.5lbs of boost with a KB 2.2liter, 3" pulley, but at 5,800' altitude. That same 3"...

    Camshaft Recommendations for 5.0L V8?

I would say the upper rpm power numbers are a bit high with the restrictive stock exhaust manifolds and muffler. I ran another comparison, this time the stock X with the cam VS a Stock X with the cam, small headers, and better flowing cats, muffler(s), and pipe(s). This is a great illustration...

    Camshaft Recommendations for 5.0L V8?

Yes! I'd like to think I could slip one of these in. My heads only have 20k on them, so the lifters and rockers are good. What about pushrods and valve springs?

    Camshaft Recommendations for 5.0L V8?

I like that cam! I ran it in a comparison to a stock X in Desktop dyno:

94 Ford Ranger bucking hard at 3,000 Rpm's

Yup, off topic and such a basic question on a modified Explorer Forum. But wait, can you diagnose, can you read codes? That is the first step! but why rely on a good system, already installed in your rig, to throw a code to help you diagnose this? On top of that great Ford system, which will...

    Kenne Bell supercharged 5.0 Explorer...

I was researching supercharger drive lengths back in June 2018 and found that post. The Bronco/F150 unit I am running has a 270mm snout and they come in 314, 270, 185, and 141. This is a cut away of blower snout. It may help seeing this view for machining?

    Kenne Bell supercharged 5.0 Explorer...

Very cool! Ha. I did fail to write that I am running fans on the front of the radiator, pushers. I got two circuits, use breakers not fuses, and adjustable thermostats. The stock alternator drives them fine. Those are in addition to the flex fan. My 2000 had the newer single row rad. so I...

    Kenne Bell supercharged 5.0 Explorer...

This is likely an option for you if the machining of the snout is too difficult or expensive. The kit I bought used came with a crank pulley. The supercharger drive was long enough to run out in front of the accessories. I had the crank pulley/damper machined to fit the additional pulley and...

Let me be strait, You are talking crap about a great company. Did you spend the money on a kit and then not get service? Did you buy used and not check fitment? Did you buy used and expect service from KB? 14 messages here , you get help and talk crap! I don't think you know what you are...

    Kenne Bell supercharged 5.0 Explorer...

I hope you get Twin Screwed! I call BS on this. I have always had great service over twenty years with KB. I call with good, relevant questions for which I have researched and get help with what I want. The fitment of the unit should be the first thing you confirmed. I see KB is selling...

Change Wires when Changing Plugs? Broke Wires Again.

Does anyone read more than a post or two back? Thx for your clarification, I of course used more than spit, and I said I installed them correctly. That grease goes away pretty quick next to header heat. Routing of the wires and shielding is more important if you have headers. Performance...

I have not found a cheaper source unless you buy used of Ebay. KB blower pulleys: Pulleys Category - Kenne Bell Superchargers I am running a Kenne Bell kit for Bronco/F150 that I modified to work. I run the crank pulley that came with the kit out in front of the stock damper/pulley. I'd like...

    Poor Man's EE Air Dam

I wanted to keep it clean and clear of anything on the front, but I had some old aluminum truck cap clamps that had the perfect angle to work. Rivets would not show as much as bolts and be cleaner looking.

    Project thread: “Beast”

"Never give up" is a good cool attitude towards an older rig. My rig, at times and on purpose throws something else at me once I get a fix completed! I sweet talk her, scratch her under the fenders, realize her age and try to complete the next fix.

    Kenne Bell supercharged 5.0 Explorer...

You will need to upgrade injectors and tune it if over 3lbs. of boost. The crank pulley only needs to be changed to get more or less boost, You may have enough control over boost by changing the blower pulley to get what you want.

Engine swapping an XLT to something more modern

33's, 4X4, 4,200+ pound rig and you want good mileage and power? You got to look at some new turbo, ecoboost like engine. I believe the up front cost would be prohibitive and not be returned by saving money on gas. As far as saving the planet, you are by not driving a new vehicle and...

Post pictures of your roof racks/awning

Could you bend the "L" brackets to fit the curve of the crossbars and add another bolt or screw or two into the crossbar? This is what I ordered for crossbars, not cheap but not expensive when you consider the cost of prebuilt racks and crossbars: 1" x 2" OD Aluminum Oval I have also found...

    In need of 5.0 Headers

I think you being pretty negative about a great aftermarket performance part. I thought they were overpriced and then found-out the quality of them and time to hand make them. I am glad to have a set. Everyone has an opinion. Here is my experience. I had one leak at the extra joint on the...

    Project thread: “Beast”

Thx............I have had those in my cart at Summit for some time but have too many other projects. I found this from Power Stop: "Both kits are an improvement above any OEM setup. The Z36 does offer about 25-30% more stopping power than stock, while the Z23 is good for about 15-20% better...

    Project thread: “Beast”

Go man, sounds like it is coming together nicely. Jeez, I almost ran over myself once. I slipped under the rig real quick and bumped the shifter cable which was enough to take it out of park. The driveway was not too steep and I was able to roll out...................not without a couple of...
