2016 Explorer Base
Hello all, hopefully someone has a fix for me.

My 2016 Explorer Base had the Rack and Pinion go out. I had it replaced and programmed, but the traction control lights came on, and the 4WD is no longer able to be used. We took it to a Ford Dealer and it's showing the parking assist in not available, and they reprogrammed the rack and pinion computer. It didn't fix anything and they charged me $100. I spoke to an old Ford Tech, and they said the parking assist parameters need to be disabled as the rack and pinion is for all trim levels, and even though mine does not have park assist. Is there something I can do, other than take it back to a Ford Dealer?

Welcome to the Forum.
I'm guessing the Park Assist is software programmed feature so you may be able to disable using FORScan which is somewhat like the IDS tool the dealer uses. Otherwise, I believe the dealership is the other choice. If it wasn't programmed correctly by the dealer, they should fix it.
