5R55E Transmission in a Ranger too?

I have a 2000 XLT 4wd, and I was wondering if the 2000 Explorers and Rangers share transmissions. They share just about everything else, might as well share transmissions? I have the 5R55E in my Explorer, so I am guessing a 2000 XLT 4wd Ranger would have the 5R55E as well. Am I wrong thinking this?Thanks

My 1999 Ranger 4.0L V6 had the 5R55E trans, even though it had the OHV engine (not SOHC).
