+1 Exactly. We test fit the lights to make sure they fit right, take a bunch of measurements and close-up photos, send those to the manufacturer and ***** about why xyz isn't right and then try again when the next sample set of lights shows up. Also, the second I can do ANYTHING 1g Ex...

Dad brought his 2011 Escape in for a set of bars today, we had him in the shop at 9:30, started filming the install at 10:00 and sent him on his way before noon. We still need that 91-95 F-150 or Bronco to test fit a set of prototype lights - you'll get $50 for your time and trouble for those...

Explorers across the world - How are Explorers being used??

this is the sort of thing I built mine to do but haven't yet had the chance to. I built mine to be able to go to the beach, run the dunes and still be able to take a pair of skis up to the mountains that evening.

We would LOVE to have a 91-95 F-150 or Bronco come by tomorrow; email roger@spyderauto.com if you can come down. I won't be in tomorrow (friday 5/18/2012) but that's when we need the Bronco or F-150. Froggmann's got first dibs but whoever can make it down to City of Industry where we're...

FROADER was nice enough to swing by today to help us out by lending us his 2005 F-150 FX-4 Supercrew to demo installation for a set of 4" Oval Tube stainless polished finish step bars and test-fit a prototype set of headlights for us too. Thanks again for stopping by; hope to see more EF...

LED is about the only thing we're playing around really heavily at the moment though IIRC I think we recently introduced some sort of headlight for Gen II Exes. Also, where'd you shoot that pic? Looks like the sort of place I built my Ex to go but haven't yet taken it (fire roads etc and the...

Bump; this is gonna be an ongoing opportunity since there's a lot of variance in truck models and management wants us to be bringing in <5 vehicles a week to shoot. -Nick

By not beat up, I mean... it looks like a beater. Your Ranger, on the other hand, doesn't look like a beater. Yours still looks like it has care put into it- like, my Explorer's not perfect, but it still can look good for a picture, if you know what I mean. Like.... no huuuuuge dents and...

Thanks for following up, I've got you down on the spreadsheet for now. We're planning to be bringing a lot of cars in for this sort of thing. Without saying in writing who I work for (in writing, anyways due to company policy, I'm not allowed to say it), here's an example of the exact type of...

Yes, it sounds too good to be true, but not really. Hi, I'm Nick, I've been here a while (and still have and drive my customized Ex regularly) - I work for a company that sells headlights, tail lights, bull bars, step bars, intakes and a variety of other auto and light truck accessories...

Best bolt ons for the 4.0L OHV?

Man- this is ####ing retarded. Long story short- I am hard up for cash, I built this thing as best I could and because my ####ing family made me give up on The ex and buy another car when the trans went right after replacing the clutch, now I need to sell it to pay rent next month as well as pay...

Best bolt ons for the 4.0L OHV?

Uhhhh the Screamin demon coil widens gap to .065, hence the gain if you'd actually read up on it before making boldface assumptions. I did neglect to mention I HAVE switched MAF housings as well- I've done so much it is hard to remember all of it. I had a grip of large Ford MAF housings lying...

Best bolt ons for the 4.0L OHV?

Just confirmed with Performance distributors. 1-3hp is reasonable and average reported gains of closer to 3-5hp, main benefit is throttle response and fuel economy, though they do not have dyno sheets.

Best bolt ons for the 4.0L OHV?

I have no reason to doubt the figures- I happen to work next to JET and got the chip way below MSRP and a few coworkers here used to be JET employees and corraborate what they said. Considering the fact that this is a piggyback chip on the ecm (not ebay junk) and JET is one of our most popular...

Best bolt ons for the 4.0L OHV?

Direct quote from JET: "PN 89314- +13RWHP@3200rpm and +11 RWTQ@2800rpm." Where are your dyno sheets disproving this? Plus, search Screamin Demon coil on any of the Ranger forums, a number of threads confirm HP and mpg gains. I am attempting to contact Performance Distributors to confirm...

Best bolt ons for the 4.0L OHV?

The HP figures for the JET performance chip are actual dyno results from Jess Pranskus, tech over at Jet Performance for what the chip is supposed to deliver. I can cite the dyno sheet if need be. Screamin Demon coil is only good for a handful of HP and the figures from the pro-fab intake are...

As you can see, these mods really don't buy that much actual hp but they do make a difference. Cumulatively all of it makes a night and day impact- forgive the whole post above but I think it adequately explains what does what.

Best bolt ons for the 4.0L OHV?

Hey, I have the answers to those. The zip tie mod only benefits at models and simply takes the slack out of the throttle cable- it has no real effect on performance besides that. The oe throttle body mod is having your oe throttle body ported and polished, I have one. The KKM intake is a waste...
