I would drain the fluid change the filter. fill it up with dextron 5. see if that fixes it.

Could be the solenoid on the back of the transfer case. It's only job is to ingage and disengage 4w low

I have reused them no issues. They want you to reuse them becaus the nut is softer steel then the axle. The threads are also tapered. When you take then off there no longer tapered.

ok so i scanned my cpu n my truck and it came up no codes found...said everything normal... light still flashing and it wont shift into overdrive... shifts from 1-3rd in like a matter of seconds but will not go any further...what does this mean?

ok so i decided to just replace the cv joint...that was fun anyways now i have a new problem. now it wont shift into overdrive...shift through 123 kinda rough but does it and will not shift into o/d at all... got a little nervouse when im doing 40 but rpm are at 3500...any ideas what the problem...

98 explorer XLT had to replace my drivers side cv joint already... however now that im done with that for some reason it wont shift into overdrive. i never had this problem before. o/d light is blinking now and it just wont shift did i do something wrong?

ok well i talked to some friends and they seem to think it might be the diffrential box...i checked mine and i didnt have any fluid in it so im trying to put some in now but it s cold so its taking to damn long...i'll keep an eye out for your post
