    Blown head gasket

    Or the water pump failed.

Intermittent clicking sound when turning right. Pop, wheel comes off…

Custom wheels? Is the wheel hub centric to the Explorer or need a hub centric ring (usually plastic)? If no, that could be the source of why the lugs either loosened or sheered off.

    Oil filter leak

You might have left the gasket from the old filter stuck to the engine. If you did, the oil will spray out between the 2 gaskets. No, you don't need to drain the oil. Remove the filter, check to see if the old filter gasket is not in place (remove it if it's there). Clean the filter base...

Passenger Door Skin Damaged - Replacing Passenger Side Door

I would suggest contacting a painless dent repair (PDR) guy to see if they might be able to fix it at a fraction of the cost. From the picture, it doesn't appear to be creased nor the paint being cracked. Doesn't cost anything for an estimate...

Coolant reservoir is emptying slowly - 2015

Just to note, adding the chain and tensioners only cost me an additional $170 in parts (2016 Sport). In reference to experiencing the WP Failure (2011 XLT), I checked the oil and coolant on Sunday of the week it failed and all was normal. That Tuesday, I got the call from the wife that the car...

Coolant reservoir is emptying slowly - 2015

I just had the WP, timing chain, tensioner, etc replaced this week on my 2016 Sport. The chain was getting noisy. $2300 at my local Ford Dealership. I recommend you stop driving it and get it fixed. In 2018 we lost our 2011 XLT to a failed WP. It's trade value with a good engine would have been...

    Water pump failure

For my 2016 Sport, the quote (Ford Dealership) is as follows: $432.93 Parts (WP, Chain, Tensioner,Sealant, Gaskets, Flanged Bolt, Antifreeze) $1740 Labor $130.38 Tax ----------- $2303.31 They forgot to add the oil change to the quote. so add another $50

Water pump replacement, do it before it goes out?

The reason I'm getting this done is that the timing chains are getting very noisy in this particular vehicle.

Water pump replacement, do it before it goes out?

At this point, it's probably more cost effective to replace the WP and timing components, than it would be for an extended warranty. My refreshed quote was $2350.

Water pump replacement, do it before it goes out?

Our 2011 XLT lost the WP (& engine) at 115k miles. The 2016 Sport needs the timing chain & guides replaced at 120k and will do the WP at that time. Need to get the quote refreshed (from October 2019) and then scheduled. That one is still running...

Steering Wheel Power Tilt/Telescoping Function Not Working

As weird as it sounds, check to make sure all the driver's side under SEAT connectors are firmly clicked together. One time on my 2016 Sport, my wife vacuumed under the seats and my steering column and adjustable pedals stopped working. One of the plugs partially came unseated.

2018 PIU 3.5 eco boost Engine noise

All I can hear are the injectors firing (normal). On my 2016 Sport I can hear that I need a new timing chain and guides (think of the sound of you pulling a chain along the edge of a table). I tried to record the sound on my phone but could only hear the injectors. If this what you are hearing...

2017 Ford Explorer sport turbo problems

My 2016 Sport needs the timing chain and guides change. It makes a ball bearing sound at idle.

2017 Ford Explorer sport turbo problems

Could be the cooling fan. There is a warranty extension for the Explorer Cooling Fans.

2018 Passenger Mirror not moving left or right?

I didn't use any tools to pop the glass out.

2018 Passenger Mirror not moving left or right?

My mother had this issue after hitting the mirror off of something during a downpour. The mirror housing & glass had no damage. I bought a Motorcraft motor off Amazon for about $65 and it fixed the issue. You just need to gently pop the mirror glass out & carefully unplug the wire connectors...

    Cylinder 6 missfire 2016

How many miles on the plugs? I have found on my former EB F150, NA 3.5 Explorer, and 3.5 EB explorer that when the plugs are EOL, they misfire. Try replacing the plugs.

How do I fold in the side mirrors on 2016 Explorer XLT?

You don't have power fold mirrors. Manually push them in and out.

Coolant Leak on 2017 Explorer Limited

Depends on the shop but yo are looking at $2k, which you would also want timing chains and guides replaced as well while they have it apart.

    17-19 taillights

At one point I had a 2011 XLT and 2016 Sport in my garage. It's amazing the amount of small details that changed between the 2011-2015, 2016-2017, and 2018-2019 models.

Towing a U-Haul 12 foot trailer through Kentucky.

The 5x8 single axle enclosed U-Haul trailer does not have surge or any kind of brakes. Also, I second that how you load the trailer is what causes the tail wagging.
