Could be the cooling fan. There is a warranty extension for the Explorer Cooling Fans.

How many miles on the plugs? I have found on my former EB F150, NA 3.5 Explorer, and 3.5 EB explorer that when the plugs are EOL, they misfire. Try replacing the plugs.

You don't have power fold mirrors. Manually push them in and out.
