Water leak/wet carpet on passenger side

I can also verify this. Happened to me recently. The cowl was not clicked into the track below the windshield very well. Reset the cowl, and it seems to be resolved, but I will keep my eye on it. As mentioned, the HVAC inlet is directly below the passenger side cowl, and water can drip right...

What is considered "normal" shift behavior?

The 10 speed transmissions with the 2.3 engine seem to be the worst. Maybe it's lack of low end torque/flywheel momentum, or whatever. The transmissions are clunky when downshifting. And mine also has weird hesitations when upshifting out of 1st gear sometimes. It's all pretty "normal"...

    2020 Coolant flush

Manual says the coolant change interval is 10 years or 200k miles. Dealer just fishing for easy money. The color of your coolant is normal. I would recommend to leave your coolant alone. If you do change it, keep in mind it's not always easy to get any air out of the system.

    2020 Coolant flush

Unless you have scale or contamination, I would not use a flush product. I would recommend a more simple drain and fill of Ford Motorcraft coolant. How many miles on your vehicle and why do you want to perform a flush?

2023 Explorer Leak, Electrical Problem, and Overall Disappointment

Only reason they would ask you to pay (in my opinion) is if they suspected the vehicle had flooding. You mentioned heavy flooding in your area. Are you sure they are not assuming the vehicle flooded? If it's due to rainwater dripping down, it probably affected some control modules. If that's...

Brake pad life and best replacements

I'll give you a simple reply. If you like the OEM brakes, just buy Motorcraft replacement rotors and pads. You'll be good as new for another 65-70k miles. That's what I plan on doing, as I agree the stock brakes work very well.

    2023 Explorer Wiper Blades smearing

This has been a problem since the 2020 came out. There's a long thread on here about it. Bosch OE blades help, but don't last all that long. My original windshield eventually got hit by a rock and was replaced with the cheap Safelite windshield. Much better wipe now (still use Bosch OE...

    2020 Explorer Limited TPMS Fault

When just one sensor fails, it is likely related to the sensor itself. Since all 4 are not registering, it seems logical that it is possibly related to the module. I doubt you are going to solve this one on your own. Perhaps try disconnecting the battery for a while and then re-connecting...

2022 2.3L Slow to shift from drive to reverse

Mine had this same exact issue. As well as clunky/delayed shifts and harsh downshifting. I've mentioned it every time I took it in for warranty work. They always updated pcm/tcm and reset adaptive tables. But it continued to get worse. I dropped mine off at my local dealership on June 14...

    Customer Service Program 22N17

Had this done on mine. My service writer actually brought it up without me asking.

    Replacement Tires

I just put the Pirelli Scorpion AS 3 on my 2020 Limited as well. I only had 50k miles on my original Pirelli Scorpion tires, and they were pretty much done. I have about 800 miles on my new tires and I like them a lot. The price was better compared to other name brands as well.

    Remote features disabled

I got that a few years ago due to a needed software update of some modules. Modules did not "sleep" correctly when the vehicle was off, and created a drain on the battery. Additionally, my battery really was failing and needed to be replaced. Don't ignore it too long, you may find your...

    Mysterious Charge light blinks

These vehicles have a lot of sensors and a lot of control modules. Any random fault can occur, it's just a little bit of bad luck and potentially a faulty part. Two dealerships that can't solve the problem is unacceptable. They have channels to communicate with factory engineers to help...

    Mysterious Charge light blinks

If the dealer can't figure it out, try another dealer if you can. Most likely it is a sensor acting up, or needs a software update of some sort.

    2020 Steering Column Creaking

Yep, mine's been like that since new. Only happens on 90+ hot summer days. Problem will resolve in a month or two when the weather cools down. I once mentioned it to my dealership, and they had never seen the issue. I don't trust them to change my oil, let alone take the column apart. So I...

What oil to run in 2.3 liter Explorer

At 40k miles, I'm still using Motorcraft blend and Motorcraft filter. Change at 7500 miles. Might try Some Castrol Magnatec next time based on supposed good results in ecoboost engines. But at the end of the day, the Motorcraft oil seems to have proven the test of time.

    Intelligent cruise control issue

Happens to me every now and again. Same as you, when I restart the vehicle for the next drive, it is resolved. It has only happened to me maybe 4-5 times in the past 2.5 years. I think it's a software glitch. If it happens a lot, ask your dealer. For me, it's so rare that I don't worry.

    Safety Recall 22S27

This would not stop a dealer from taking a vehicle in on trade. They just perform the outstanding recalls before they re-sell it.

    2021 PIU engine pinging

Not familiar with the PIU, but the manual generally describes 87 octane for all engine series. Modern ECU's typically have octane tables that will adjust ignition timing, fueling, etc based on current octane in the tank. My experience is that my vehicle runs better on higher octane. On your...

    Auto Hold System Fault

You can use auto hold any time you like. You aren't doing anything wrong. It's a software issue, and pops up most commonly after a remote start. Next time you are at your dealer, you need to tell them about the fault message, and direct them to TSB 21-2276. They can update software to...

Oil Fill & Dipstick Hard To Reach

On the 2.3, the drain plug and filter are underneath. You have to remove an under lining to access the drain plug and filter. The dipstick and fill cap are on top of the engine, about center.

Just purchased 2020 Explorer, clean carfax but..

I have a very early 2020 Limited. My hood latch is the same if I recall correctly. I think it's just sloppy paint work in early production,

2022 Explorer Limited motor sounds like sewing machine

The 2.3 ecoboost is a noisy engine. Most likely what you hear is just like all of them. But if you're concerned, post a video here, or take it to your service department for inspection.

Not a glowing report on the 2022 Ex.

I have one of the first built 2020's with 35k miles on it. Most people would have probably pushed Ford to buy mine back a long time ago. But I have stuck through it, and with lots of software updates I feel like it's pretty decent these days. My transmission is not the smoothest thing in the...

    High Voltage Failure

Your vehicle is a hybrid? Definite battery/electrical issue. I would recommend to get it to the dealership.
