    RESOLVED - violent acceleration

Finally got the replacement driveshaft this week and installed it today. All's well again, the truck rides smoother, the vibration is gone, and a bump when shifting I had learned to ignore has been resolved as well. Anyone who finds this, keep in mind that Ford has discontinued the part, covid...

    Flat tire replace Kit

If you have access to some, you may be able to use a combination of 1/2" socket extensions to fit into the hole that turns the crank to lower the tire.

    RESOLVED - violent acceleration

Fixing the driveshaft in this truck has been difficult, the supply chain is truly hurting because of covid and non-serviceable parts (WHY, FORD??) are a problem. I do have one shop who claims they can build me one this week so I have my order in. It will be completely serviceable with stronger...

    RESOLVED - violent acceleration

One wheel does appear to be missing a weight on the front. The shake did not present in the steering wheel so I felt that ruled it out but plan to get that fixed at my next rotation anyway. The interesting thing I noticed is that the rubber bushing that attaches the drivershaft center support...

    RESOLVED - violent acceleration

Suddenly. I drove about 200 miles straight today and it started in the last 15 or so.

    RESOLVED - violent acceleration

On the highway doing about 65 today, I needed to pass a car. Punched it up to 75 but it shook violently from the rear up to speed. It felt like I'd describe wheel hop when accelerating from a stop and was a bit concerning. Have I broken a driveshaft or axle?

Which brake fluid should be used? DOT 3, DOT 4, or DOT 5.1?

I flushed all 4 wheels with fresh dot4 a year ago when I had a caliper fail and it's been fine. I was advised dot5 could cause issues due to a reaction with old fluid.

    Amp Installation

I went through the grommet on the passenger side of the firewall that two vacuum hoses pass through. Zip tied the cable to the cowl

2010 Sport Trac SPREADSHEET for Forscan...

Curious about this, myself. It'd be great if I could add a couple of features like auto headlights or fogs with forscan if I pick up the parts to get it working.

    SportTrac Rust Issues

You could check with other body shops but I'm afraid that's a pricy job most anywhere. They probably want to cut the entire rocker off from corner to corner under both doors because there's probably holes about to appear in other spots. What's strange to me is I've noticed water collects in...

Where are all the used 1st gens?

Most have probably been crushed by now. I'm keeping eyes open for a gen1 sport but they just aren't showing up often, or they're ready to be crushed.

06-10 Gauge Cluster - LED Upgrade

It's worth it. I couldn't read my gauges at all on the stock bulbs. The stock color of the numbers & markings is green on the '07 sport trac. All I used were the bright white LEDs. Say if the color was white on your vehicle, you could use green LEDs and get a green tint, However, the...

    COOLANT BOILING

Only times I've seen this happen - there was a blockage or an air pocket somewhere. Make sure the system is properly bled and that the engine isn't overheating.

    Pcv hose replacement

It'd be best to find a salvage part in good shape. ebay or car-part.com.

Front lower control arm bushing replacement tools or instructions needed

The factory manual has no info on how to replace the bushing. All it mentions is how to R&R the entire control arm assembly or lower ball joint. Follow the advice above.

    2007 sport trac radiator info.

Chapter 4. Called the ford dealer, got the build date and part number. That was easy.

    2007 sport trac radiator info.

TL;DR - Does anyone have a hint on how to figure out which radiator to buy for a sport trac built in 08 / 06? Enjoy the dramatic literature below. Chapter 1. I'm changing my oil when I notice that I've got the double whammy of leaky transmission cooler line fittings & a slow coolant drip from...

New Battery Went Dead Twice in One Month Overnight

My dash cam kills the battery every time since it's been cold outside. Once i started unplugging it when I get home, no more trouble. Sounds like you've already figured that out but you'll just have to check the circuits for draw from the fuse box like suggested to narrow it down. I'm...

Did that grille come with the piece that attaches to the hood? Looks great!

Won't restart until it cools down

Does an '07 have this same style of design for the pressure regulator? I'm having a rough start issue when warm that is presenting as the motor starving for fuel for a minute or two.

Is this on a v8 or v6? Would love to hear a clip.

V6 with p0352 rough only at idle

I'd be interested in checking it out. Beats smoking a cigar and exhaling into the vacuum lines. I didn't see that fault but I did notice a new trend today. I stopped to get gas, hooked up my scanner, and watched the Long term & short term fuel trims. When cranked after warm and sitting for...

V6 with p0352 rough only at idle

I'm having the same issues right now on an 07 when I start the engine after it's already somewhat warm. This started after doing a lot of work while I replaced valve cover gaskets a few months back. I've reset the PCM and fixed some broken wiring to the TPS but don't have an answer yet. I'm...

    Brake pads reviews?

I used Centric posi-quiet pads on my 07 ST and the performance was terrible UNTIL I replaced a sticking rear caliper and bled out all of the old fluid from the entire brake system with fresh DOT4. It's got the best brake performance I've ever had on a vehicle now. You should flush your brake...
