We actually called our friend (since he lives just down the road!) to pull us out with his blazer.... Yes, blazer... it was shamefull. No tow hooks of any kind in back yet... again, shamefull. Now, I owe my buddy a new tow hook for his blazer and a new tow strap since we had to cut it...

The Sport Trac kit has special brackets for the bumpers. The front fascia is different on a Sport Trac and Sport in that the grill and bumper cover are all one piece. If you bumper is seperate (and obviosly metal) don't get the trac kit. Your kit should be the same as a Ranger (I think).

Hah! The wing - I get more $h!t for that than you can imagine! If I wind up keeping the X, I plan to remove the wing and make a spare tire mount for the toneau cover. It's just too hard to throw a spare on the roof and get it down without killiing myslef...

I agree that you need to replace the stock roof rails. Being plastic, there is no way thry could handle serious weight, especially when off roading... I like the custom route. Although mine has been working to haul lumber (works great for 18 foot timber!), I built this thing to hold up to...
