    Dressing Fender Edges

I would like to cut my fenders but would rather leave a rolled edge or something so that if I stuff the tire the sheet metal won't slice the tire. And it just looks more 'finished' this way. How can I go about doing something like this? Mickey

Do you use your X for towing?

Does anybody tow with a lifted X? We plan to get a 5.0 AWD Mounty and I would like to lift it with a TT/153 but I would like to know what that will do to the towing capacity. Also, how much strain would it be on say a 30"-31", stock gearing, and a #3000 pop up? It wouldn't be taken more than...

    Decisions Before Purchasing

I spoke with the owner of the truck and he said that it is in very good condition. He explained to me that he is a mechanic and felt that the motor could use a good 'freshen up' so he put new rings, cam, GT40 upper and lower intake on it for some extra punch. And there maybe some other stuff...

    Decisions Before Purchasing

Well, that's about the price that they're going for around here... we DON'T plan to spend that much, we're going to off about $4,750.. But we're also stumped because we need the 302 with AWD. Anything we should look at? Mickey

    Decisions Before Purchasing

We're looking into this Mounty and just wondering if there is a common problem with these trucks. Also, should we be concerned with a rebuilt motor...

    Decisions Before Purchasing

While I would love a manual, mom will have to drive it too and she doesn't want one. I think that we have come to the conclusion that a V8 with AWD will be the way to go. Now we just need to narrow down the best year model too look for. Does anybody know when they stopped using that stupid...

    Decisions Before Purchasing

Well, I've got the parents talked into getting a 2nd gen as a 3rd vehicle to run around with. We knew basically what we wanted, but after doing some research into it all it's getting kind of overwhelming to say the least. We know we want a 4wd 4 door.... I'm stuck between a V6 and V8...

How to get a sport trac on 33's?

I've read that with a 3" body lift, add-a-leafs, a torsion twist, and some trimming you can fit 35's on a ST. But again, that's just what I've read... check out www.mysporttrac.com Dedicated to ST's. Mickey

General Consenses of leaf spring choice

So with the 44044's, you would avchieve even more? Sweet. lol Code, is there another product that you would recomend that would be better than a revolver shackle? Or is there just no replacement for a good set of leafs? lol Mickey

General Consenses of leaf spring choice

Also, do bushings add any width at the eye? Like would I need a hanger larger than 2.5" if my spring was 2.5" wide to accomidate for the bushing? How much overall lift have you acchieved with your SAS? And adding your 2.5" lift springs, did they acutally give you more than 2.5"? Is there any...

General Consenses of leaf spring choice

Could you use the 44044's on a Dana 60 if you put the correct spring perches on it? Or is there another leaf that fits a Dana 60 and still gives good flex? Mickey

    Best street Sas

I'm going to bring this one to the top... When running a high lift leaf spring, more arch is needed to gain the lift which results in less flex, correct? What does one have to do to still have decent flex and have enough lift to clear bigger tires? Are coil overs just the way to go or can...

    Lets talk Coil Overs

Sorry bud, just figured with all these experts on the subject in here it'd be good to chime in and get a reliable answer. So by rephrasing my question.. Obviously running coils is an expensive undertaking. What is needed to determin the different spring rates of the upper and lower coils...

    Lets talk Coil Overs

Obviously link'd and coil overs are the ultimate and ideal suspension for a rock crawling based vehicle. I'm really wanting to SAS FW (d60) my Ranger and it's coming to the point where I need to set in stone what suspension I'm using. Around here we have Tellico and similar trails. I get...

    FW Leaf Sprung Questions

Well, the 4BT uses a Chevy NV4500 transmission and I don't know what type of cases can mount behind it. It's not the actually Cummins out of the full size Dodge but a 4 cylinder version that is used in bread and chip trucks. Mickey

    FW Leaf Sprung Questions

Well, after long and seriuos though, I'm going to do a SAS on my '86 Ranger. Origionally I had thoughts of a D44/9" on radius arms but then I started thinking that I might not be able to accomplish enough lift to clear 38"+ tires and still be able to be abused with a Cummins 4bt motor that I'd...

94 Sport Full Width Dana 44 and 9 inch

Moving the axle... is it as easy as placing the top coil buckets forward 1.5"-2"? Are you using the FW D44 coil buckets for the top or the stock Explorer buckets moved down a couple inches? Mickey

94 Sport Full Width Dana 44 and 9 inch

Ok, this is probaly going to be stupid. But did you have to do any modifying to fit a WH coil onto the stock D44? And what is the advantage of moving the axle forward and what other modifications are to be done with that?
