Hi This morning I saw oil under my car and its coming from the engine, I did not go under the car to see where its coming from. I'm guessing it from the gasket, I'm using synthetic oil, if I switch to regular oil will the oil leak stop? or would I have to change my gasket? Thank You!

Hello I changed my emergency brake pads and I hear a noise like the spring hitting the disk, I tool it apart 3 times and tried all sorts of things, 1 time it made no nose but after driving for a minute or 2 the noise came back. The problem is only for the driver's side. I don't know what else...

its fixed now, I think when I put the housing back the first time it moved the o-ring but the second time I was much more careful, and there is no leaks now :)

I hope thats the problem, I will work on it tomorrow again.

I put the spring downwards, so I think that should be right, I read something about "12 o'clock position" Could that be related?

Well, last time when I had the Motorcraft filter I found 0 debris in the used oil, but this time that I had used the quaker state filter when I was removing the used oil I found very very few debris at the bottom of the bucket. And the debris did not look like Steel it had a creamy color to it...

Hello I changed my oil with Mobil 1 Synthetic today and the filter I used was quaker state since the store only had quaker state oil filters. It seems to me that these filters are very bad. Should I change it with a Motorcraft Oil Filter? or should I just leave it for next oil change?

Hello I want to take my car in to change its transmission oil, the mechanic told me he charges $150 for Ford Mercon V ATF and $175 for Amsoil Synthetic. Is the Amsoil worth going for? or it makes no difference if I change my fluid regularly? My car is a 97 Explorer with 150 000 Miles on it.

Hello I have a 97 Explorer 4X4, my rear tires are abid smaller than the front and on dry ground when I engage 4X4 i hear a clicking noise, but on snow I barely hear it. Is it safe to use on snow, or will it break something?

unfortunately I don't have a garage/parking and its pretty cold outside and a lot of snow on the ground, so I'd rather not do it myself.

I think the best thing for mw to do is to buy a used transfer case and replace it with my current one. My car is a 97 would all the 96 to 01 transfer cases work on my car?

If I open the transfer case would the transmission be involved and does all the transmission fluid pour out? And what is the approximate cost for the chain and the bearings?

ok I took it to another shop and he did a better job at testing it, he took it for a test drive and did some checks and he said its most likely the bearing and the chain in the transfer case and he said it would cost me $1000 to rebuilt the transfer case :confused: Is it hard to change those...

I checked my tire numbers and they where both P235 but they are different brands , but I jacked up the car and measured it all around and the back wheel was 88.3 Inches and the front was 90 Inches, Would that much difference cause the 4X4 to be unusable?
