I have a strange noise while turning left. Its a rasping metallic sound, very similar to the wheel bearing going bad under load. I just replaced it, thinking it was that, but the sound is still there. I'm thinking the brake disc, but I greased the caliper pin bolts and the brakes are working...

Thanks for the reply. I dont think its excess fluid because it was low on fluid when it was taken out the second time and I think it would stop leaking through the top tube when it reaches thr correct amount. I'll tell the mechanic to keep an eye on the pump bolts.... Thank you

I had the transmission fixed a couple of weeks ago. It was completly rebuilt. 3rd band was broken. Had the servo holes reamed and liners put in to eliminate the wear these cause to the aluminum case. I now have a strange problem. I have a leak coming from the front of the transmission. Looks...

I should say accelerating under load, like going up a hill. It happens at part throttle also. I read somewhere that it could be a vacuum problem but I have no idea where to start looking. I work on my x all the time but this one has me stumped.

I have no idea what causes my 2002 4.0l air conditioner to stop blowing cold air while accelerating or under load. It works fine other than that and has sufficient freon 134a .... Any ideas?

I was wondering what is the largest tire I could use on my stock rims with Gound Force lowering springs? I know 265/70 fits at regular height...

It looks like the spring was installed upside down, not sure, need better picture. That tire comes awfully close...

I am going to turbo my 3rd Gen. explorer (2002) V6 XLT in the future. Since I have to replace the fuel sending unit (it reads empty), I want to replace my fuel pump with a high flow unit for my future upgrades but I don't want it to run rich at the present. Which fuel pump do you recommend and...

I'm thinking of installing an oil cooler on my 2002 also. The top line of the factory cooler is the return line? Some pics would be nice....thanks.

Very nice install... I have the same engine and have been looking into forced induction. I'm just trying to figure out how did you connect the EGR tube, does the kit have extra copper tubing? Also,why could'nt you just switch the fuel rails and use the hose that came with the kit or do they fit...

Can someone explain to me what is the throttle body mod that I keep reading about? It seems to me that it has to do with sanding down the little vaines in the throttle body (mine is plastic) but can't seem to find the thread to help me. what are the benefits? downsides? please help......:salute:

I've read turbocharging threads here for the 2nd gen explorer but not for the 3rd gen. I would like to ask if anybody has turbocharged their 3rd gen Explorer and what mods you did to reach your goal?
