Betty's "I want to be a mule" progress log thread

If I remember correctly the optimal speed range for fuel efficiency is 55-65mph. Helps if you draft behind a truck too :D

    Need help with lighting

I would think you could tie into the wires going to the under dash lights. You could realistically tap into any light in the truck that comes on when the doors open (dome light, floor lights, door reflectors, etc.).

    Dislexiclawyer's 92 Sport

Wow, a resurrection! Well I ended up moving to an apartment in the city and had a string of expensive problems, transmission, wheel falling off on the highway. That combined with bad gas mileage and driving a lot for work, I needed a more reliable vehicle. So I bought a new (to me) car and...

    tire fell off

The same thing happened to me about a year ago. I was on the highway and the wheel bearing just fell apart and the wheel, rotor, caliper and all came right off and rolled down the highway. Made a thread about it too, probably a few pages back by now.

    Palmer 7's '93 Limited Edition

Personally I would recommend that if you are going the add-a-leaf route to use the original shackles. I know people have had problems using extended ones and flattening out their leafs and losing lift. Just a suggestion though.

    SMORR 2011....Official thread

Looks like everyone had fun this weekend, sorry I couldn't make it. Hopefully sometime in the near future I can start work on another rig and join you guys again.

    The Black Hole

Any plans to hit the bottom of the truck with some bed liner? Also I think now that your plastics are off, your fender flares would look good if you tapered the ends down so they didn't just end. May keep some rocks and stuff from hitting your paint too. Love the new bumper too.

    Pugly

Are you going to chronicle your Adventures fixing the door? After seeing it with the body lift I wish I would have done it before I sold mine. Maybe the fender wouldn't have gotten as banged up when the wheel came off :p:

KC Area gathering location and date

I don't have my drill schedule yet, but I think either way I should be available that night. I'm in! :bounce:

"TURDLE" or " How to mess up a perfectly good truck"

I know how you feel. I just sold my truck too. Sometimes we just need to move on.

My new to me 2004 Sebring

Well I have gone and done it. I am in the process of selling my sport and have bought an 04 Chrysler Sebring Limited. So far I really love the car, and while it isn't a truck it is really what I need right now. I will miss wheeling but fuel efficiency and something just generally newer has been...

Any one interested in a KC area get together?

I would definitely be interested in a meet of some kind since I live in KC now. Although I wouldn't be arriving in an Explorer :( It would be fun to meet more people on the forum though.

    Drive with 3 wheels anyone?

Yep that is in fact my license plate.

    Drive with 3 wheels anyone?

Well i took your advice and it seems like the spare just really likes being on the truck. I think I am just going to have to call the shop that put it on and have them take it off, or see if they have any other advice.

    Drive with 3 wheels anyone?

Well I now have a functioning passenger door again. Only had to take the fender off and then saw off the busted up bottom half... I didn't feel like trying to bang it back into shape. I guess I just have to keep my eye out for a new undamaged fender and wheel well liner. I also have a slight...

    Drive with 3 wheels anyone?

Well I grabbed a picture of the fender today when I picked the truck up. Its kind of hard to see all the damage but hopefully tomorrow I can get it straightened out.

    The Black Hole

The truck is looking good man. I can't wait to see the cleaned up wiring. It just makes me think of all of us wiring up your lights that first SMORR trip, and what a huge mess it was.

    Drive with 3 wheels anyone?

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I am pretty lucky it wasn't worse. About 2 minutes prior to this happening I was driving at 70 mph, so I am very lucky it didn't happen then or I may have rolled the truck. I was only doing around 45 at the time. As for the damage it seems like the bearing...

    Drive with 3 wheels anyone?

Well this is almost the last straw for me. I was driving down the highway Monday and out of nowhere my passenger front wheel decides it doesn't want to be a part of my truck anymore and wants to go it alone. After all was said and done it destroyed the knuckle, ball joint, rotor, hub, pretty...

    SMORR MO 2010--July 16,17, & 18th

Well I think I am going to have to change myself to a maybe this year. Just too many problems with the truck right now and I don't know if Ill have the money.

Best place to cut for a rear panel fix?

So did you get a new door, or will it still not open and close until you fix that panel?

I thought this screen name looked familiar. I am over on the AF forums under the same screen name as well. I don't post very often though. I don't really post that often here either.
