Just in case anyone is thinking about doing this, here is my experience:
After doing some research on the Explorer Forums about the PAC Audio PXDP Ipod interface, I decided to take a chance and see if it would work with my '03 EX Sport Pioneer CD6 in dash changer radio even though PAC Audio states it won't and... it works!
I ordered the PXDP module and the PXHFD3 wiring harness that fits the Ford 3 piece black "world plugs" from Ebay.
Installation was very simple - I used the 12v constant and ground from the cigarette lighter to supply power to charge the Ipod (yellow and black wires on the PXHFD3 harness) and the rest of the harness was "plug and play" into the back of the radio.
Once everything is connected, pressing the CD button on the radio twice gives you access to the Ipod.
I hopes this helps anyone who is considering this. Cheers.
