16" stock mountaineer rims? (yokohama tires any good?)

Just out of curiosity, how common are the 16" stock explorer/mountaineer rims? I own a 2001 mountaineer v8 awd, everywhere I go online to look at tires shows the stock rims as 15" and don't even show 16" as an option. obviously I can price them out with what's written on the sidewall, but I thought it was kind of odd. also, looking at getting some new tires. I used to run yokohamas on my cars but don't know anything really about good all-around truck tires. we don't really do much off-roading at all, but we get quite a bit of snow around here in the lake effect areas so good traction is always welcome, and a quiet ride would be nice as well. we have michelin's on there now and I think they are rather loud on the road - noise scale.

I've got 16's on my mounty as well, I thought that was the only option in these year
