2wd and 4wd difference of the M5OD?

What is the difference in the 2wd version of the M5OD and the 4x4 version of the M5OD? Is it the tail housing or the tail shaft?

I'm thinking about keeping the transfer case out of my donor X for a stubler project down the road and converting it from 4x4 to 2WD before I put it back together and selling it.

It should only be the rear since the front has the same connection to the engine. The driveshaft is a little shorter too. Check both links in # 47 in my list of useful threads for more information.

so basicly i need a 2wd transmission instead of swapping tail housings and/or output shafts?

I guess I'll try to find someone wanting to swap from A4 to M5 and from 2wd to 4x4.
