I have an 89 B2 that I'm doing the 4.0 / axles swap and I'm starting to put things back together. Right now I have the engine in and getting ready to put either the D35 front axle or the transmission and transfer case in. My question is since I lifted the body 3" do I need to extend the shifter on the transfer case, the transmission is automatic. Any advice from someone who's done this is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Well the shifter sticks as far through the floor as what it does an Explorer, and there was a picture here on the forum of a 2nd gen with manual case and b/l and the shifter stuck through enough still to get grip on it to shift.

i doubt you would need to, you don't extend it when you put a bl on regularly, it will sit lower def, the only thing i would think is it might contact the back of the shifter when going into 4low, but im sure it will work just fine
