97 swap am/fm/cass for am/fm/cd, help

I have a 97 4dr, that has preium am/fm/cass w/ changer controls, but would rather have a am/fm/single cd or am/fm/cass/sigle cd.

Plug on old is the retangular type.

Anybody put in a newer factory radio with the squarer type of plugs and interal amp?

I've been told it won't work. Differences in the wiring and stuff. I was asking about this a while back for mine. I'm going to install a factory changer in the console, I still need to get the harness needed to do this.
