Questions about wheel trim!

I have a '96 Sport, and anyone who has one of these knows about the rocker panels rusting out. So last spring, I took off the rocker panel covers and stopped the rust before it got too bad. Now this spring, I want to take the covers off, seal up the holes, and rhino-line (or something like it) along the sides and up the doors, like you commonly see. The only thing is, with the wheel trim I have, it gets cut off before it reaches the bottom of the rockers.

So my questions are. . .
Will wheel trim from all other years of Explorers fit mine?
If not, what years will?
Are the bolt patterns the same or different?
If you have done this yourself, any tips?

Thanks!!

Unfortunetly, all Explorers that style came from the factory with either rocker mouldings or moulded stepboards, so the wheel opening mouldings on all that had them fit together like yours.

Your other option would be to shave the wheel opening mouldings as well but you will most likely want to put the lower rear quarter panel trim on it from a '92-'97 4dr that didnt have them, 'cause it's ugly under that peice (between the rear wheel and the rear bumper)

Thanks for the info!!
