rear right brake scraping sound..

the rear right brake starting making a scraping sound...the sound goes away when u apply the brake.
I havent' taken it apart yet, but i wonder if it's the brake pad wear indicator??
 






It might be the E brake

and when you brake it dampens the noise. A lot of these E brakes delaminate even if you dont use it. It is easy enough to inspect the caliper brakes if you remove the wheel. The internal drum E brakes are much harder to get at. A rust ridge forms on the drum and the adjuster is usually frozen. I recently had to do my E brakes.
