Turns out I need a new A/C compressor in my 5.0 Explorer. The A/C has a fresh recharge but it is barely cold, the mechanic diagnosed it as a compressor that is on its way out.
Anyways, how much can I expect to spend for a junkyard A/C compressor? Or am I better off just buying a replacement online somewhere?
The plan is to evac the system, swap the compressor and then recharge it. Anything specific I should know?
Also, will the A/C compressor off a V6 explorer work with a 5.0 Explorer? Or do I need a specific compressor for my V8 ?
