ok here is the problem. no matter what gear, but while under moderate to heavy load engine bucks/sputters only betweet the 1600-2100 rpm band. i tried to pull codes off of the ecu and came up with 411 and 538. for the 411 code i came across an article about the idle air control valve that i can become coated with heavy carbon deposits and could cause this problem.
so i cleaned it and reinstalled it. cleared the codes from the engine and retested. still same codes come up. as for the 538 code. through another forum came across "goosing" the engine when prompted to in order to keep that from happening. unfortunatly my code reader does not offer that feature. the whole ignition system tests ok and is less then 3months old. air filter clean, throttle body was cleaned. any suggestions? has any one had this problem and cured it? engine has just over 150k, no knocking, pinging, smoking. 2.3L with 8 plugs. please help to resolve this. thank you.
