    1" - 1 1/2" lift thoughts

When I first got mine it had sagged down low enough I really didn't have a good point of reference. The plastic shims that isolate the torsion bar pads from the frame were shot so the suspension was super soft(bottom out over speed bumps soft)

    1" - 1 1/2" lift thoughts

One thing I'll add. Its easy to raise the front end of these up too high to where they destroy CV axles. With no body lift, I measured mine at 21" from center of wheel hub to the edge of the front wheel arch. I did add a steel bushing to the top of the front shock to extend it, but it rides...

Lifted shocks on the early Sport Trac

I know you can space the front shocks a little by using a steel bushing at the top, but now I'm wondering if you couldn't use this to add a little more travel by getting rid of the bar in the shock at the bottom, this moves the mounting point up a little instead of right in the control arm.

    VERY high mileage SportTrac

Just rolled 291k on my 03 4.0. Trac. If OEM parts are available, I usually go that route. Only exceptions are the thermostat housing (use metal) shocks ( use Bilstein, oe ford suck) and bushings( polyurethane is better than rubber/foam)

    Door harness interchangeability

It's been messed with in the past. I can unsnap the switch panel, lift up on it, then the switch works. The switch has been replaced already too.

    Door harness interchangeability

Having some issues with the door wiring harness on the pass front door of my 03 Trac. I understand that the harness for RKE and non RKE are different, but what other years would interchange? Wondering if a 01-03 sport or 99-01 2nd explorer would be plug and play

Lifted shocks on the early Sport Trac

There's also these as an alternative

    Turn Signal Switch Swap.

Did this a couple years ago. I think some newer rangers actually came this way.

Deerfield Precision Braided SS Brake Lines

I haven't since, but I had a pair of front hoses from Paragon performance, one blew out with no warning. I would either stick with these or stock style rubber hoses.

    OEM Plus Interior Ideas

I wouldn't use the factory 04-11 air bag wheels, they look cool but they've killed people unfortunately. I have a nice 06 steering wheel in my stash but won't use it for this reason...

How do I remove back passenger side injector?

Another thing is match the year and injector flow. Different years have different flow rates as do flex fuel models and manual/auto transmissions. They are color coded, ex: mine are red.

How do I remove back passenger side injector?

If you replace them, go back with new oem ones or cleaned OEM ones not aftermarket. I have a set of cleaned ones I can send you I bought from eBay and never used. I put new pintles and baskets in mine.

How do I remove back passenger side injector?

When I pulled and rebuilt mine I pulled the intake manifold off. The fuel rail comes up. There's little plastic inserts they sit in, inside the heads, they often crack and need replacement

    Interior / Exterior parts compatibility

Mirrors are slightly different because the trim around the windows is. They do interchange though.

    Inconsistent idle missfire-2003 trac

Did the base idle adjustment. Definitely was out of whack. Idle speed with IAC unplugged was over 600, adjusted it to 500, reset it, drove it, no rough idle, seemed to adjust to loads like ps steering pump/ ac compressor much much better. Before It was set where it'd bog the engine so much the...

    Inconsistent idle missfire-2003 trac

If the thing would do it more often I could do that, but I'm starting to wonder if the base idle procedure and the reset would resolve it. Ran fine this morning to work with no missfires registered or felt. Throttle body has been changed and it has a sct tune.

    Inconsistent idle missfire-2003 trac

Is this the same procedure streetrod2000 has on here? Wasn't sure what years it pertained to.

    Inconsistent idle missfire-2003 trac

I replaced the TPS with a new ford one last year. I think the pcm sets the idle speed with the IAC. I couldn't get it to replicate the issue today, drove 30 miles.

    Inconsistent idle missfire-2003 trac

I haven't ran techron, there's a high strength berrymans treatment I have used. And it was changed within the last 10k miles, earlier this year.

    Inconsistent idle missfire-2003 trac

Later last year I suspected that, replaced the intake gaskets( they were done as part of the timing/ head work in 2019). I replaced the injectors seats, the injector screens, the tips and the orings. Bench tested them with a tester, all seemed consistent. I really don't know what to check next...

    Inconsistent idle missfire-2003 trac

Having an inconsistent miss fire only at idle. 2003 4.0 with 283k Heads, chains and guides were redone within the last 80k miles Taylor plug wires, new motorcraft plugs 10k ago. New ford IAC Only thing I've found is a mode 06 value that's exceeding the limit. No errors or codes showing up...

    IAC causing high idle

2003 4.0 280k. Noticed it would intermittently idle high around 1000-1300 regardless of in park or gear. Unplugged iac and the idle dropped, plugged back in and it's idling at the correct speed. Does it randomly. Same result shutting the engine off and restarting it. Replaced newer IAC with new...

I run stock style raybestos rotors and powerstop ceramic pads. Stainless hoses and flushed the system. Plenty of braking power.
