That's the nickname of the differentials. Rear-wheel drive cars have one , and two if you have 4wd/awd.

Thanks for the explanation. Both have been changed in the last 5 years. As I approach 200,000 miles, ill look at changing the spark plugs & maybe the shocks /struts?
