According to my mechanic, my PCM is preventing my AC compressor from turning on so it needs to be repaired or replaced. I found online retailers selling refurbished PCM's that they can program with my VIN, but I will still have to have the keys programmed. I only have one key and it looks like I will need two. My question is if I have a new key made before I swap the PCM will I be able to program the PAT system my self or would I need a locksmith to do it? If I need a locksmith should I just swap the PCM first then have a new key made and both programmed at the same time? Another questions is, is it worth it to have the seller program my VIN or should I just buy a used PCM for half the price and have the VIN programmed and the keys at the same time? Thanks in advanced.
