Was the sway bar upside down for the lift? That was one of the steps in the lift I did. Helps clear the longer links.

    Camshaft Selection

I don't believe that they are required on a 1971 model year car. 1975 I think is when they became mandatory (?) Some did have them early before the requirement. Not gospel, just thinking out loud...

I definitely want to do Dickie Bell from the other end so the rock garden is uphill this time. When I slid down near the end I caught my lower-driver control arm and front lift beam and drove it back about an inch. Torsion bar and all. Had to replace some parts to get the alignment back.

Best place to get it is at the Eldorado Outpost, right near the entrance to Uhwarrie. It's a supply and restaurant (sorta) and gas station. Although not the best gas. I try to top off earlier. Their "Hi-Test" is only 90 octane. My Ex likes at least 92, 93 is better. You should download / join...

Cool, hope ya get it. I'll be heading down Thursday afternoon. I like to setup by the river and do a bit of fishing / hiking. Camp last summer before everyone else arrived...

On the calendar. I will be there a bit earlier. I could secure a camp based on how many commits to going. I also created a rally point on Overland Bound, beginning 8/29 thru 9/04 to overlap the weekend.

@DintDobbs - We don't have to push out to October, but September is way better than August for me. I think we have several events in August. I won't know about Sean & Patrick 'till we have a date set for them to ask about. I may ask a buddy or 2 here in Yancey County if they want to roll with...

Sept/Oct would be preferred, and a long weekend thing is also better for me, but not necessarily a deal breaker if not. How many days were you thinking?

    Uwharrie 2024

Definitely later. I'm not doing July again. 105 degrees is too much for me :) I am heading down there this weekend for a short run and get my season pass. Will be down by the river on Friday, leaving Sunday. The trails open the 15th. As for the specific date, pretty much any time. I'm in tight...

    Bkennedy's SAS and Rebuild Thread

I've been very impressed with the Nitto 315/75-16 Trail Grappler. Measures out larger than a 35" (by about 3/10th's). They are a 10 ply as well and do great at 12 - 16 psi. I would think you could find 16" rims pretty reasonably priced, especially at this time of year with all the sales going...

Trakmotive makes a pretty good set. I've been running them for about 3 yrs. now. Have held up well on some pretty tough trails (i.e.. Kentucky DBB). They will handle a pretty severe angle without binding and will extend up to 40mm I believe.

Back for round 2 - Questions on front auto locker

Yea, that's a low price. I'm thinking I paid about 300 with shipping for Aussie.

Back for round 2 - Questions on front auto locker

If you don't get anywhere with Nitro, let me know, I have the 13527 Aussie locker that I ordered incorrectly still in the box.

Back for round 2 - Questions on front auto locker

I went by the recommended model on the Aussie Locker site for my 95 Dana35 and ended up with the wrong shaft size. Best bet is to open it up and mic the diameter yourself, as I think it could be either. The site called for the 1.56", and as I was regearing and doing final assembly, had to stop...

About to install RC 5" lift. Advice please

The 95-97 Explorers had Central Disconnect Axles, not sure that was ever a thing on the Rangers - may be wrong on that.

About to install RC 5" lift. Advice please

From what I have experienced, 1998 through 2000 Ranger is a very close match to the 1995 - 2000 Explorer front end, not so much the rear end. That is with the V6, not sure about the V8.
