- 2003 ford ranger
hi, i am new to this forum so please forgive any breaches of etiquate.
vehicle, 2003 ranger with 2.3 duratec
this is the problem,
computer set code P2004, intake manifold stuck open, no other codes set.
vehicle condition, new manifold, new actuator, new solenoid valve, new actuator monitor, new vacuum hoses.
tests performed,
koeo, at monitor plug conneted,
brn/wht wire 5 volts,
grey/red wire grount continuity,
white wire 5 volts,
applied vacuum to actuator and verified actuator moved, held vacuum and repeated test, all values remained the same, voltage in white wire should have shown 0.5 volts or there abouts but remained at 5 volts.
koeo, repeated test at monitor, plug disconnected, all values remained the same,
removed white wire from harness, repeated test, all values remained the same,
koeo, cut white wire at mid point, measured voltage in white wire comming from monitor, plug connected, 0.5 volts with vacuum applied, released vacuum, voltage rise to 4.5 volts.
koeo, measured voltage at white wire going to pin 8 at pcm, 5 volts.
this wire is outside the harness to prevent shorting.
do i really have to change the pcm?
IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE!
