There's a guy local to me selling a Dana 35 from a Cherokee with 4.88s and another with 4.56s. Gears look great in both.
In addition to that, one has an OX locker and one has an ARB locker.

So... can we use gears from a Jeep Dana 35? Can we use the whole carrier? What's the difference between a C-clip set-up and a non-C-clip set-up? I've tried looking on Randy's Ring and Pinion but the site is weird how it explains the Explorer D35.

Any guidance here would be greatly appreciated here, as last night I discovered that I'm in desperate need of both gearing and a locker.

Thanks!

There are a few threads floating around on this, but in short..

No, a 1st Gen X cannot use gears from a jeep dana 35.

the front of the X uses a high pinion, which means its actually a reverse rotation gearset, unlike the jeep with is using a standard rotation.

Carriers might be possible but the gears as mentioned are a no no. Check out Dana Spicer's website and compare carrier numbers.
