Ive got about 1k to play with...

A top of the line HU will have enough power to power your speakers. You can pick up a nice Panasonic, Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse, or Kenwood for around $400. A decent set of speakers will run $200 for all four. Which leaves you $400 for a box a sub or 2, amp, and wiring kit. One set-up you can go...

    RE subs/ USAmps

I'm not going to lie 2200watts is sick and your doing it right with your amps. I'm saying that if he can't get half the potential out of the 3000s then definately go with the 1500s.

    RE subs/ USAmps

I'm not saying I would do this. I'm saying that if HappyGilmore bought them and didn't do enough electrical upgrading then it would be a waste to buy the 3000s. As you even stated yourself that you only can turn them up half way, so in my eyes thats a waste when you can easily move to the 1500...

    RE subs/ USAmps

You don't need the 3000s to power the XXXs and you can use the 1500 or the 1000 to power them. However, you wont get the full potential out of them by doing so. If your not going to compete then I suggest going with the 1000 per x... Trust me in the right enclosure, you wont be able to hang with...

    Engine Upgrades

I didn't figure the sensor in the MAF would actually do much, but the MAF itself if larger will provide better results then the stock version. Aldive do you know if a 4.6L MAF from C&L will work on a 4.0L?

    Engine Upgrades

I have a 96 4.0L and I'm looking to upgrade my MAF. What are my options for the 4.0 engines and of these options which is the best performing one? Should I replace the electronics in the MAF or does that not really matter? I know that C&L just uses the factory sensor. Does it matter if the MAF...

custom Sub-box over wheelwells, get rattle?

I have the custom fiberglass box holding the 2 12s IDMAXs that fit over the wheel well and I have no rattling whatsoever after I bolted it down. I had to bolt it down on the side wall my box was to top heavy and it rolled over a few times.

    Need Help with the exhaust

So today I went to get a smog check and they say I didn't pass because of EGR flow insufficient. I called my mechanic and they're saying that it's becuase the Gibson Exhaust isn't producing enough back pressure to open the valve. He's telling me that (without looking at it) that I need to...

    My new fiberglass box

Nasty350LT1 if your serious then pm. As for the question about the cargo space I carry a thick blanket that pretty much protects it and I'm very careful with what I carry in the cargo area. For the most part, I play hockey for my college so I have to transport my goalie gear to and from the...

    My new fiberglass box

So I came on here a while back saying I was going to build a custom fiberglass box and show everyone how I built it for those that don't know how to build one. However, I had to many projects I had to finish on other peoples cars so I didn't have the time to even start, so I thought I would at...

    lowest possible height with 20s(pics)

I can vouch that with out doing anything extreme, that's pretty much as low as you can go. That's about the ride height I'm sitting at, just a warning to everyone that in order to achieve this your X will move with every flaw in the road.

    20s on a second generation

After a wonderful night out at the bars Saturday, I come Sunday to findout to what I believe is that some jealous f*cker, who's probably a waste of life, stabbed my tire in the underground parking structure of my apartment. Now I'm a man that believes that no matter what you never mess with a...

    What box should I build?

Well the subs I'm using are the lower end subs that actually like small sealed boxes and the way I have the basic enclosure designed in my mind I think 6 12s will work and look pretty good. Since I have 12" rings cut I could always set it up for 6 post the picks and if the skeleton doesn't look...

    What box should I build?

Alright so I'm going to build a fiberglss box and post the process that I use for everyone. I'll probably just sell it afterwards, but anyways here's the two options I have: 3 12s or 6 12s. I'm guessing a lot of people will say "Lets see 6 12s" but I want responses based off if you were going to...

    Subwoofer enclosures

You don't have to use fiberglass to do this. I painted a few boxes. All you do is use wood puddy or body filler to fill your screw holes or an edges that are scewed, sand it down to make it flat. I would round the edges of the box as well to get a better look. Then spray about 2-3 really heavy...

    Opinions on New System...

Based of the companies your stating I probably would go this direction Eclipse HU around $500 depending on model and where you buy 12 w7 (you can pick one up for $300-$400 on ebay from a reputable seller) JL 6.5 componets $250.00 JL Coaxials $150 JL 500/1 (you can pick one up for $300-400...

    Got 20's and Lowering

I have lowered mine 3.5" in the front with a 3" block on the back with 20s and used the camber kit. It doesn't pull in a certain direction all the time it just goes where ever the road isn't perfect, so pretty much every where.

    Painting your own truck?

I personally have painted my own truck. All I have to say is depends on your prep work and the time you want to put into sanding. I spent numerous hours into color sanding and clear coat sanding and I personally, as well as, others thought we did a better job then a body shop that charges $7000...

What should I for my new hu

Well I decide I'm going to go with a 10" touch screen mold in cause I'll be going with a car computer. However, I wont have it done until mid May, cause I live down by school and don't have a garage to work out of. So I'll have to wait until I get out and move into my new house or stay with my...

What should I for my new hu

I'm already sold on it, I just need to know where to get one at. But lets get back at the question at hand, anyone have any thoughts as to what option i should take (flip out tv, or molded)?

Ya I could understand that...just seeing how prices were running on painting interior, so I can keep mine respectable.

What should I for my new hu

I have an alarm already that I'm going to install this upcoming week. After my last few broken windows on break in attempts and finally a successfull attempt, I've already thought of ways to keep them from coming back

    new dash

I can vouch for the expensiveness of fiberglassing. I'm building fiberglass boxes for my friends and I got interested on how much it would cost to get them made. A majority of our local shops start at $800 for the box for a single-sub sealed enclosure (roughly) and that's not preped for paint...

What should I for my new hu

I keep going back and forth on what I want to do for my new HU. I used to have a pioneer flip-out screen but that along with my whole system got stolen ($2000 worth of equipment, which is my sub, sub amp, and flip-out) so I get to start a new project on my Explorer. Here's the two things I was...
