I've been around the explorer forum for quite a while now, and while I still have my 99 X Sport, I just picked up an 06 'Scape xlt awd. It's in excellent condition even though it is now a ten year old vehicle. Complements the X Sport nicely.
Bring that it's almost 20 years old now, I think the spring could just be a bit worn. I can't seem to find just the throttle body spring online though.
I'm from Georgia but have been on the West coast for about 6 years now. While I was still home in Augusta we had a fairly large X community and had regular meets/cruises. We never ventured quite that far south so I can't say whether the X scene down there is alive and kicking or not.
So every how to listed on this site as well as all the well versed techs are wrong about where the tensioners are and you are the only one that knows where they are located. Ok...lol. I'm sure others will chime in and correct you so I'll just sit here and watch.
Here's just one of the many...
Do you not have any exhaust on the vehicle? If not I'd say a junk yard stock system is gonna be the least expensive and since your moving to a larger exhaust it should fill your needs just fine.
I wonder how prone these bolts are to coming loose. I've developed a rattle in that area that has me stumped. Tweaked and fiddled with pretty much everything back there to try and find the rattle. Sounds like another panel removal..dammit..lol
I've found there are a few different configurations for the dimmer switches. As far as I know they are not interchangeable. Just find the correct one in the jy.
I had this problem on my old '97 Ranger. I removed the oem cover and plastidipped the "cushion" then put a new cover on and restitched it on. Looked better than stock and never had another problem.
I don't think that would work because a fan not only depends on the polarity to determine air flow direction. The fan blade fins are pitched to conduct airflow in one direction. Sure you could make the motor spin in reverse but will the fan blade allow air flow in the opposite direction? Also...
Not to mention the timing guide issues with the 4.0. Would probably be best to find a v8 add to invest in for your offroad adventures. It's a much more dependable platform and will last quite some time with the proper maintenance.
I'm using an ebay special. $20 shipped. Mounted to the rear view mirror and hard wired to accessory power. Works like a charm and was extremely easy on the wallet. I've caught many idiots on it and the footage is not bad at all. One of the best $20 I've spent so far.
I halfway agree with that sentiment. The factory enclosure is going to have an ancient sub in it that there is no telling the condition of. Plus an aftermarket sub will get you much better sound. The factory enclosure is perfect for a stealth install. Just use an aftermarket 8" sub in the...
Your going to have to pull the hatch trim to get to the handle mounting properly. Go to the jy and find one your year and take it apart. You'll learn how to get everything apart and the parts used to secure everything.
Yeah, Just release a couple pounds of pressure from the system to level it out a touch. Technically your supposed to use a reclamation cylinder so your not venting the gas into the atmosphere, but I'm sure you could get away with a couple psi.
