when I picked up my new to me Explorer, I noticed that there were no codes for the keypad on the door. Don't pay the dealer for this number, it only takes a few minutes to find it.
You start by opening the glovebox and squezing the stopper pins so the glovebox opens all the way to the floor
Then look up towards the bottom of the passenger side airbag and remove the 3 gold colored bolts. These bolts are 8mm/ 5/16..
once the bolts are removed, the airbag is free to slide out. Do not pull it out from the front, you may bend the cover that way. instead, push the bracket from the back side. When the unit is out, look for a small box behind it with 5 BOLD numbers on it. that's the door code, simple huh. I was encouraged to find it after the third time my brother locked his keys in his truck.
