Hello folks. Just a little blurb about me self. At 20 years old way back in 1969 I was in college and got drafted in the Army. I immediately switched to the Air Force.

During basic I applied to be a USAF Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE) training instructor. I completed the SERE instructor school at Fairchild AFB, WA, in December 1969. I was assigned to the 3636 Combat Crew Training Wing as an instructor with the 3612 Combat Crew Training Squadron, Field Training Branch from Jan 1970 to Jul 1972. I have completed Technical Instructor Course at Lowry AFB, CO; Army Airborne Parachutist at Fort Benning, GA, Tropic Survival School Panama, CZ; Water Survival at Homestead AFB, FL, Arctic Survival at Eielson AFB, AK; SAC NCO Leadership School, March AFB, CA; and USAF NCO Academy at Lackland AFB, TX. I then completed Para Rescue Medical training at Sheppard AFB TX before being assigned to the 5040th Helicopter Squadron Rescue Section as a Rescue Specialist from Jul 1972 to Sep 1975. I flew rescue in HH-3E Jolly Greens. I was then assigned to the 5th Bomb Wing Aircrew Life Support Branch, Minot AFB, ND, as a SERE instructor from Sep 1975 to Sep 1980. I returned to the USAF Survival School in Sep 1980. Working in various duties and branches as an instructor, supervisor, manager, and stan/eval. I retired as a Master Sergeant in May 1991.

I completed the 2 year AAS Automotive Techncian program at Spokane Community College in 1993. I have worked for Firestone(1 month,YUCK! ), Spokane Chrysler/Plymouth(4+ years as a electrical driveability tech), Goodyear (1 week, YUCK!), and Empire Ford (7 months as an electrical driveability tech). I am an ASE Master Technician and MOPAR Master Technician. I quit for good in 1999, for physical/personal reasons. I have since worked various jobs; mostly in the manufacturing business at Hewlitt/Packard (now Agilent Technologies) and now Accra-Fab,Inc in Liberty Lake, WA.

I like Fords because the USAF Survival Schools vehicle fleet consisted of 4X4 crew cab pickups. The Fords lasted the longest. My Fords have towed many a Chevy home. LOL. My first Ford was a 64 Fairlane 2dr Sports Coupe 289 2Bbl 4 sp. We now have a 64 Comet Caliente 289 4 BBL automatic, 80 F-250, 87 F-250, 98 Explorer and 03 Explorer.

I've had a lot of classic muscle cars. 57 Chevy Bel Aire 2 dr 283 4 bbl, the 64 Fairlane, 67 Chevelle SS 396 4 sp, 68 Coronet R/T 440 4 sp, 79 Trans Am T/A 6.6, and now the 64 Comet. We even have a 85 Porche 944 that needs the engine rebuilt.

My next Ford was a 2dr 78 LTD II 351M 2BBL. Then an 84 Bronco roller cam 302 4BBL. Next came the 80 F-250 460 4BBL. Then the 87 F-250 Super Cab 460 4BBL. Along with that a 92 Explorer Eddie Bauer 4x4 4.0, the 98 Explorer XL 4.0, now the 03 Explorer XLT 4.0.

I also have 2 4X4 ATVs (2000 and 2002 Kawaski Prairies), a 79 Honda CX500 (since new), and a 2000 Yamaha V-Star 650 (my baby).

Both Explorers need work. The 98 the most. Noisey front end, drivers door lock/latch, heater blend door, lean condition code/check engine light, and the right half radio speakers inop/faint. Th 03 needs the drivers door wiring fixed. Mirrors and windows inop. Intermittent door ajar and dome light on.

I like vehicles and working on them. But age is taking it's toll and I can't "get in there" like I used too.

My place looks like a used car lot! My 3 car garage is full of toys and junk. My wife said "YOUR NOT GETTING ANOTHER VEHICLE, WE NEED TO GET RID OF SOME OF THE ONES WE HAVE SITTING AROUND"!

radio problems 07 sport trac\

hello,
radio wont come back on if i shut off the engine. i am wondering if there is a relay not working or is it in the radio itself. there is an entertainment in rear
if i pull the 50 amp fuse several times on the main fuse panel under the hood it will come back on. does this problem sound familiar?

G'day mate. Bloody hell, do you ever get people dropping in and asking about price's at your 'used car lot'? :) Your old cars/ trucks and the current crop sound great. Have a good one!

Sorry, I have not encountered this specific problem. I once replaced the control unit in the rear panel of a 98 Explorer; with integrated radio, cd, cell phone, etc; for draining the battery. That's about it. I only have 6 months of actual shop (dealer) experience with Fords. I love the way Fords last and last but hated working on them. Most times the problems never made much sense to me. That's all I've got to offer.
