brake fluid leak

im a little upset and looking for advice. my 96 explorer has a huge puddle of brake fluid under the rear axle.

sounds like the brake line going over the rear axle probably rusted out. It's not to difficult to replace if you can get another one.

Hi Guys, I found this post and decided to reply to it instead of posting new because I have a problem with brake fluid loss on my sons' 98 Explorer 4X4 but there does not appear to be any obvious cause. We are losing about 8oz per month. We even had the car at the mechanic for another issue today and he couldn't find any leaks in the brake lines nor the wheel cylinders. Any clues?
