In the recent cold weather, ours has decided to do a slight chirp on start up & when you're headed down the road it will chirp with acceleration until the vehicle warms up sufficiently. We just replaced the serp. belt & it's still doing the chirping thing. And when it's warm we seem to notice it less often. Does anyone have any suggestions? We have no other problems, it runs very well. So is this chirping harmless & do we just put up with the annoyance?

Thanks for any help out there! ;)

slight chirp

i'm not sure if this is you're problem but it sounds exactlylike an exhaust leak.fords 5.4 engine does this same thing when cold.check to see if any exhaust manifold bolts are loose or broken.this symptom of noisey when cold & gets quieter when warm sure falls into line with an exhaust leak.good luck.

What year, Model, Engne... got to give us some facts to work with...
