I am recently having trouble with the front drivetrain on my 92 explorer. If I engage the vehicle in 4x4 everthing is smooth until a loud clunk. This clunk returns ittermitently with no pattern what so ever. This problem stays even when the 4x4 is disengaged but the hubs are still locked, soon as the hubs are unlocked the problem goes away. Please any input on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Auto hubs are your problem:(

Me too!

I'm having the same porblem!!!

Im Having the same problem My loud clunking is coming from the front drive shaft wieght that they use to balance the drive shaft. at certain times the wait will hit the crossmember
