I'm putting new head gaskets on and the shop i took the heads to to get them freshend up said they couldnt do anything with them! they told me they were remaned heads and that the valve guides were oversized and would have to be bored out and they couldnt get a big enough guide to replace them. here is the issue i have had this x in the family ever since it was brand new and it has never had the heads off! and I mean 12 Miles new. anyone heard off ford putting oversized guides in these heads

Sounds to me like either your machine shop doesn't know what they are talking about, or they are simply lying so they can sell you new heads, more work, or in some other way take advantage of you.

pick the heads up and take them to another machine shop.

there were a couple revisions of this head early on as ford was addressing the cracking issue they had.
its possible this is part of the confusion.

thats what i was thinking to, sux that ya cant trust anyone any more! and this place is one of the best in town, yeah right
