I'm looking in to putting a performance camshaft into my 4.6L 2007 Sport Trac. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried this or has one currently installed on their truck. Which cams would fit, and which would give me a reasonable horsepower gain?

I have never done a 4.6, but with that said i would call up Comp Cams and tell them what you plan to do with your Sport and they can fix you up with the proper grind and what ever else you need to compliment the cam. I've delt with them several times and are very helpful.

you do know that the 4.6's went to variable valve timing? I believe its was '07 my '10 has it. That may complicate things, plus you will need 2. If you did find something you will need a new tune? Maybe start with a tune first and see what they say, they might already have a calibration for a specific set of cams.

I did a cam swap years ago, OHV too, so it was only one cam, but that had a carb so it doesn't count. .
