Hello everyone i am a new owner of a 98 xlt explorer i am experiencing difficulty with the rear wiper, it makes a clicking sound when i turn it on but it dosent budge at all. Any help appreciated

That's very common for second gen explorers. Those arms have a tendency to go bad. If you don't mind chinese parts, rockauto.com has dorman rear arms for $26.79. If you want a higher quality one, 1aauto.com has theirs for $42.95 plus free shipping. Not sure where it's made, but I've always gotten good parts from them. http://www.1aauto.com/1A/WiperMotors/Ford/Explorer/1AWWA00029/479448/1998

Edit: Oops, forgot to mention the motor. Many times the motor fails as well as the arm. If your rear wiper starts to go south, it's usually best to change both out. For motors, the OEM Motorcraft is typically the best, albeit most expensive choice. You can get remanufactured ones for cheaper. If you go with a reman, get one with a lifetime guarantee.

Thanks for the help ill look into those parts :)
