Greetings all:
I have read in several places that the rear caliper slide pins should not be touched when replacing pads unless a problem is suspected. The claim is they are sealed for life and do not require servicing. Examining the replacement dust boots I have in hand and illustrations of the rear pins, I can see they are designed differently than the fronts. But I thought a thorough brake job includes cleaning the pins, checking the dust boots for damage and lubing with new grease. Does anyone have comments regarding this contradiction or suggestions? Thanks.
