The fuel tank of my 2021 Explorer just got drilled recently in a parking lot. Wondering if anyone have suggestion on protecting the gas tank (like skid plates etc). Living in a city and don't have the luxury to choose where to park.

Never have this issue with my old PIU (maybe because it is lower and harder to reach)

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

I have never actually checked out the fuel tank but given the location which I believe is on the side just behind the driver's seat position, I don't know if there is a way to add a shield of any kind. Also, if someone is that desperate to get fuel, they could always siphon it from the gas filler location. That capless system is not theft-proof.

Geez, can't help you but man that sucks. I'd be going nuts, and want to go medieval on someone after that.
I think they have a tank on both sides like somewhere even with the rear doors. (The Aviator GT only has 1, and a battery on the passenger side)
