Yo man, I see you are in Colorado. I libe in Vail and am interested in a 4.0 swap in my 84 Bii and looking for help. Wondering if I could email you some questions, possibly pay you for your time.
geesh you guys???????? all these questions posted here... I never check here! send me a PM
ok:
Gator: 96-2001 V8 rear ends are a little different then 97-2001 V6 rear axles... the V8's have traction bars on them... other then that all explorer 8.8 95+ are the same until 2002
Stephan: 95 has a differently shaped oil pan and engine mounts... you will need the Gen I stuff to make that 95 donor work... I personally think 95 was the worst possible year for the explorer... but the 4.0L OHV and transmission were fine in 95, just the rest of the truck sucked
I do have a picture of a 5.0L EGR tube... I have pictures of the EGR setup on both P and non P GT-40 engines
hey, you have been helping me in the past with my BII project, i just found a donor vehicle for cheap, its a 95 explorer EB, how much harder is it going to be than a 94? still mount to the transmission and motor mounts? Thanks.
Dumb Question, but is there any major differences between the 96 rear axles and the 98's? I've found one with a 3.73 for $100 and figured it would not be a bad pickup since I have 3.27 and will be running 33's. I cant see any real difference between the two
