Timing Cover - water pump replacement

So while doing some upgrades on Big White (5.0 V8), I am replacing the waterpump (found a brand new OEM Ford Unit) and have the timing cover off. Anything else I should be doing while I have it torn down to this level? Thanks

    New Saleen acquisition

New acquisition - signed Saleen 302 Windsor 5.0 Liter Ford Engine Plaque For years, I’ve been trying to acquire this engine plaque, signed by Steve Saleen. It was originally installed on Saleen XP8 Ford Explorer 00-0023 (2nd photo). This is the same donor vehicle many of the Saleen parts...

Powerdyne BD-11a versus Powerdyne XB-1A dyno numbers - need some input

I've attached three dyno sheets from my experience (so far) with the Powerdyne BD-11a Supercharger and the Powerdyne XB-1A supercharger. Obviously, the dyno results from the XB-1A are just preliminary dyno tuning numbers and I honestly feel there is a considerable amount to pull out of this...

Changing out the Ford Motorsport SVO Powerdyne BD- 11A Supercharger for the gear driven Powerdyne XB-1A

So I’ve come to the determination that I need to switch out my Ford Motorsport SVO Powerdyne Supercharger ( Big White - Ford Racing Powerdyne Installation Thread ) which is belt driven, for the Powerdyne XB-1A Supercharger - a gear driven supercharger. I’ll later post a detailed explanation...

Ford Motorsport SVO Powerdyne Supercharger has failed again (#2)

As you may have read, I had my Ford Motorsport SVO Powerdyne Supercharger fully rebuilt by Jon Bond Performance (including new billet impeller) due to a bearing failure (my fault) After receiving it back and going back to the 2.8” pulley (with the 5200 rpm shift point this keeps the blower...

Why did Powerdyne decide to tension down onto the supercharger belt instead of pulling up from the bottom portion?

As you can see in this photo (taken when I did the intial fitting on my Ford Motorsport SVO Powerdyne Supercharger on Big White, the manual tensioner for the blower pushes down onto the supercharger belt. When I had a discussion with Torqstorm today, I was asked (or maybe told) that the...

So, is it true that you can fit a Torqstorm blower on a 2nd generation 5.0 Ford Explorer

Had some conversation with Torqstorm and look at what I discovered. Anyone with a bit more knowledge can look at this drawing and tell me this is true that it can fit on a 2nd Generation 5.0 Ford Explorer? If so, might be a better option than trying to find a Powerdyne XB-1A A small bit of...

Coolant temperature question that has come up with efan (2nd) change

After trying to make it work finally decided the dual contour e-fan assembly that I initially went with during the supercharger installation just wasn’t going to give me the exact result that I was looking for. That solution was cooling the engine properly but the vibrations the fan was causing...

Wanted: Powerdyne XB-1A Supercharger head unit

Since it appears that at around 400HP, I've reach the limits of reliable operation of the BD-11a Ford Motorsport SVO Powerdyne Supercharger Head Unit (keeping the supercharger RPMs at the 38,000 rpm range as to not overspin it), its time to start looking for a Powerdyne XB1A head unit. Sure, I...
