Conflicting reports ????

I did a search for painting the chrome grill insert. Do I need to peel the chrome off ?? A couple people said they sanded it off ?? What is the best way? I am going for a blacked out look. I took all the emblems off a few days ago and it looks so much better.

The reason people may have sanded it was to get a good bond with the paint. So basically rough it up a litte(maybe 120 grit sand paper) and give it some spray. I just painted mine and retouch it up everynow and then to keep it looking good.

billet + powder coat = Amazing ^.^, i just hit mine with a fine sand paper and used POR-15 on it...
