- 1998 Explorer XL
Good Morning, from the UK.
I have just bought a second 1998 Explorer as spares for an existing 1998 model. I intend stripping out all electric control boxes, switches, light units etc. together with front and rear diffs and the gearbox. The car was sold due to backfire problems (split inlet manifold) caused by starting and running on LPG.
My question is, are there any other items that members would consider worth salvaging, before the donor car is collected for crushing. The existing car has been in my family for 18 months; reliable, but with a very noisy diff.
I will shortly be taking it over, with 12 to 1500 miles per year, mainly towing a caravan. Thank You.
