After you have the photo you want to edit, here are easy steps to change the color of the object. In this case, I'm using Burns' Explorer.

Step 1.

Select the area you want to change using either the Marquee, Lasso, Magic Wand or using the Quick Mask Mode. The best/easiest way is personal preference and depending on the object in the photo.

Step 2.

Open a New Layer.

Step 3.

Select the approximate color you would like the object to be. It will come out a little darker than what you pick. I chose Red.

Step 4.

After making sure you're on the correct (new) layer, go to Edit>Fill.

Step 5.

Select Use Forground Color.

Step 6.

Go back to the layers and change the blending option to Multiply of the Correct (new) layer.

Step 7.

Deselect everything and you are done.

Nice tutorial but now only if i had photoshop:(

Going from a dark color to white is going to be a lot harder and won't work with the way I did above. You have to mess with the hue/saturation and brightness/contrast to get that.

Here is white... :p:

(lost photo)

Here is the red.
