Pictures of the Steeda finaly !!!

i'm pretty sure swapping to the 5.4 involves buying a new frame and redoing both front and rear suspension to fit it up front and to put the power down in the rear. That has been my conclusion with that one (as i have considered it myself and intend to do a swap to a different motor after my current round of interior and exterior mods) good luck if you want to try it, but you will likely find it isn't worthwhile when compared to the other options available.

the 5.4 swap has been talked about, and has been deemed too costly. you will basically need to cut the frame off at the door, and build a new truck from there forward.... and hang all the bodywork on that. you can get all the hp you could ever want from a 347 stroker, and it will actually fit.

FYI- anyone remember the Lightning Bolt? the ranger with the blown Lightning 5.4? it had to be cut up bigtime... firewall moved back.... floorpan changed.... Nascar suspension up front etc. etc. doing the 5.4 to the explorer would basically be the same thing.

Well I have pondered the amount of money I would have to put down for the 5.4 swap, and I figured prob over 15K$ when all is said and done so after some concideration I will be spraying the 4.0 till it dies then I will do a built and blown 5.0 swap.

Has anyone done spray on the pushrod ??? If so do you have any suggestions .... Thxs!

If your going to build up, do a 331 or 347 stroker. Don't even bother with trying to get the Lightning engine to work, too much of a pain in the arse and will end up being very costly. Talk to these guys in Miami, www.speedfreak.cc

And if you happen to run into a tan Explorer down there, with Cobra snake badges that sounds like a Cigarette race boat, word of advice, forget about racing, don't even try to hang with him;)

By the way I live in Boca Raton. Nice truck. We almost bought a blue Premier edition Mountaineer in January for my sister that was modified by steeda (was a friend of hers truck).

Alrighty, well ill look into the awap a little further down the road, I appreciate all the help and comments. And as for the tan Explorer Ive heard about it, hes a good friend of my best friend. But for now Im going to take the truck to the track stock as is, then i will do the 125 shot and let you all know how that goes. Thxs again!

$15k will get you a real good engine

$15k could also get you a good car!!

I know it’s an ancient thread but since the pics are missing I thought I’d bring them back for those who are interested
